At Red Monkey, the communities where we work and live are at the heart of everything we do and we take our social responsibility very seriously. Our business is built around children who will grow into the adults and leaders of the future. We prioritise activities and causes that focus on the development and support of children.
Leicester Riders Professional Basketball Club
We support local sport for children through our sponsorship of Leicester Riders Professional Basketball Club, where our funding goings towards enabling them to run and operate events for the local community and children through basketball training, camps and educational events. We feel these are particularly important as children can gain confidence and self-esteem whilst keeping physically fit and active, all aspects that are important in our busy modern society. Basketball has one million weekly participants in the UK and is the most popular team sport after football. So, whilst you may see the name of Red Monkey prominently around the Club our funding is supporting a wide range of children’s and adults’ activities something that makes us very proud!
Leicestershire County Cricket Club
Continuing the Sporting theme, Red Monkey also work closely with Leicestershire County Cricket Club where we have installed a play area for children to use when they visit on game days, we are passionate about helping children develop and whilst they play on the equipment, they can be inspired by watching their heroes play cricket. On non-game days the play area can be used by the local community adding much needed facilities to the local area.
UK’s Kids Comedy Festival
In 2019 Red Monkey supported the first ever UK’s Kids Comedy Festival that was part of the world-renowned Leicester Comedy Festival, our financial support enabled the event to be an outstanding success and allowed comedy to be bought to thousands of children inside and outside of school including the “Loving Laughing” initiative which attracted Primary School children to develop their own comedy sketch and then participate in a competition at a local theatre where one of them was crowned the funniest Primary School in Leicestershire. We felt particularly proud to support an event that helps Primary School children’s mental wellbeing at the same time enabling them to grow in confidence and experience being on a professional stage.
Added to this we also built a special portable stage which was transported around a number of high-profile locations for children to participate in the event’s joke spot initiative. Through our support we have had an impact on thousands of young people.
Other Projects
Red Monkey also support a number of smaller initiatives within schools include cross country running competitions, football kits for girls and boys teams and basketball tournaments.
Our staff are also encouraged to participate in supporting the community and include School Governors and Charity Trustees.
Red Monkey are proud to support our community and will continue this important work alongside seeking additional opportunities in the future.
