St Gregory had a newly built learning hub on the school field and wanted to develop their outdoor space, which was a blank canvas. The outdoor space needed to include a challenging and sensory nature area. Red Monkey needed to work with the school budget making sure all the key zones were included in the design.
Red Monkey designers used the two existing trees in the design as well as the camouflage Teeny Tiny Bridge to bring a woodland feel to the nature area. We installed a large challenging clamber stack containing balance beams with a central net encouraging balance, co-ordination, upper and lower body strength. The grass mound and tunnel placed centrally in the area helped with roleplay and physical play.
Two nursery dens were built on site to encourage children to read or write outside whilst sheltered. We installed a flower canopy to add shelter and sensory next to the building which gave the whole design the wow factor.
Red Monkey created an amazing outdoor learning area for our new nursery.
They worked alongside our EYES staff in the design providing them with a range of ideas, ensuring they achieve their vision.
Red Monkey created an area for the children to develop, learn, and explore in a challenging, enjoyable and fun environment.
The Red Monkey team were very helpful throughout the process. I would have no problem in recommending Red Monkey for any similar projects!
