What was needed?

The Brief

The Head Teacher at Forest Lodge wanted to transform their empty tarmacked playground into an interactive play and learning environment for the whole school to use throughout the day. Mrs Caldwell contacted various companies which specialise in outdoor play equipment for schools and nurseries, including Red Monkey. Speed was very important for Mrs Caldwell, Forest Lodge needed the playground installation in place for the summer term. Our Head Design Consultant visited the school the same week as the initial enquiry and the drawings/quote were sent back to the school within a week as per Mrs Caldwell’s instructions.

What we did

The Result

The completed playground installation contains some of Red Monkey’s latest products, including the Rainbow Adventure Unit. Forest Lodge now has a stunning playground and learning environment, full of fantastic ways to play and learn. The Rainbow Adventure Unit’s safety flooring is provided by artificial play grass, whilst colourful thermoplastic playground markings have been added to the tarmac for various games!

Part of the Playground has been transformed into a Multi-Sports Pitch, featuring metal football goals, personalised basketball hoops and sporting panels. Elsewhere, the new play area features interactive music and learning panels, a reading circle underneath our fabulous Canvas Shelter outdoor classroom and an enchanting sensory path which takes pupils to an outdoor stage.

The Feedback

We are delighted with the design and the school outdoor play equipment from Red Monkey. It certainly has the WOW factor! The children, staff and visitors admire all of the equipment. The playground installation will transform break times as well as providing a fantastic space for us to use during lessons. All our children can now actively engage in physical play with a game suited to their needs. A very professional service from beginning to end! I would recommend them to any school – excellent service and a great opening ceremony to celebrate!
